It's been about six months since I last posted on wonderful wedding blog links, and it's no coincidence that my youngest son just turned 7 months. It's been an epic half year - we moved to Dubai with two children under two, when Arthur was only 5 weeks old. I definitely wouldn't recommend it! As a consequence my blogging had to take a slight back seat, but now we're settled, and Arthur has started to sleep a bit better, I'm back at work, and loving it! I hope you're enjoying Before the Big Day - please do recommend it to all your friends. I'm still based half of the time in London, so this wedding blog will remain UK focused. What are you up to this weekend? Starting your wedding planning? My husband and I are going to see American Hustle, as a rare date night since Ivo was born nine months ago. I'm going to stuff myself with popcorn, and be that annoying rustling person in the front row. So for me, this week has been all about planning what to wear to the Wedding Blog Awards at The Ritz. I've no idea what I'm going to wear, but our lovely Wedding Blog Beauty Expert, Julia Bowden is going to be doing my hair and make-up beforehand, so at the very least, I'll look great from the shoulders up! In the meantime, the weather's been turning, and so have my thoughts, towards autumn and winter weddings. Months after everyone else, we've finally taken our summer holiday, so I'm typing this poolside in Crete, and slightly worrying about getting a sunburnt back! We've left it so late, it's sure to feel like autumn once we return, and then we'll be into the deliciously cosy feel of autumn and winter weddings. There's something uniquely romantic about candlelight and falling leaves, and I can't wait to see all the real weddings winging their way to my inbox. This was the post where I expected to introduce you to my brand new baby son, but he's not showing any signs of making an appearance yet! I'm now nearly a week overdue, and starting to go a little crazy. What with all this horrible weather and my giant pregnancy bump {one weeks to go and counting}, I've had plenty of time indoors this week, to search out tonnes of wonderful wedding blog links for you. Happy Guy Fawkes Day & Halloween! Did you have a good week? I went Trick or Treating with my nephew, who was dressed as a scary pirate and collected tonnes of tuck! Then we went to watch the fireworks display in a friend's communal garden in Maida Vale. They had a huge bonfire, and I wished I bought marshmallows with me {plus a very long stick}. Wouldn't Bonfire Night make for the best wedding theme? You can imagine all your guests cosying around the fire, a sparkler send-off, and your favours could be s'more kits. S'mores are a tradition from the US - you squish heated marshmallows in-between biscuits - yum! Happy Easter! My husband's been at work all weekend, which has been a little sad, but it means I've got tonnes of wedding fabulousness sorted out. I'm halfway writing through my wedding inspiration sessions for The In Wedding Show {buy tickets, sign up & come and meet me!} on 22nd April. I've reorganised the plants on my roof terrace, painted my nails mint, sold a piece of unwanted {horrible red} furniture on eBay and reintroduced my body to the rigours of Bootcamp Pilates {ouch}. I've also spent hours of wonderful downtime exploring the incredible creativity that is the wedding blogging world and I feel stuffed to the brim with wedding inspiration. Can't wait to share it all with you over the next few months! It's also been a great week on Before the Big Day.... You might have noticed that I've started posting twice a day - eek! Fingers crossed I'll be able to keep it up, with the help of my lovely team of wedding experts, and my fantastic new wedding blog assistant, Fleur. This week I am mostly shattered! It's been a long one - recovering from my overnight flight from South Africa, and getting used to being back at my day job. It's also been a very exciting week behind the scenes for Before the Big Day. Next week I'm hoping to welcome not one, but two new wedding gurus to the blog. They'll be following in the footsteps of our wedding blog's personal trainer, Alice Cowen, who's been blogging up a storm of fitness hints and healthy recipes. I've also started my preparations for The In-Wedding Show, where I'll be hosting four fabulous wedding inspiration sessions. This week I've been holidaying in South Africa with my cousin. We've had a fabulous time exploring the wine region, and all the cute little shops and stalls in the area. South African style is a super-cool fusion of European and African, with an almost Swedish minimalism thrown in for good luck. It makes for great wedding style, and my brain has been popping with potential wedding details. Wonderful Weekend Wedding Blog Links

Do you like skiing? I've never been much of a fan, but The Boy loves it, so I'm being a very dutiful wife, and blogging this week's Wonderful Weekend Wedding Blog Links from Switzerland! It's lovely and snowy outside, and wooden Swiss houses are so cute and romantic, I'm beginning to get into the groove. Tomorrow on the slopes, when I'm flat on my face in the snow, my mood may be a little different... This week has been an exciting one for Before the Big Day, as I've welcomed the first of my wedding gurus - the lovely personal trainer, Alice Cowen. I'll have more introductions to make over the next few weeks, as Before the Big Day celebrates turning two and a half years, with a big growth spurt! How was your week? Mine's been a bit of a write-off, after I caught mega evil flu last weekend, I've spent most of the week in bed, feeling sorry for myself. There definitely seem to be some serious bugs going round, but as an added benefit, I lost my appetite, so I've finally dropped those last, stubborn, Christmas pounds. I feel like I'm ready for spring now! The one good thing about this week, was that I had plenty of time to ramble around my favourite wedding blogs, and to discover a few brand new finds. Wonderful Weekend Wedding {WWW} Blog Links

Do you get homesick? It's a strange feeling to have as an adult, but I'm away, living in Brussels this month, so I've been getting real pangs. I've been put up in a lovely flat in a great area {v near trendy Place du Chatelain}, but it's just not home. So this weekend has been a real treat, because I've come back! It's created a combination of feelings; the fun of seeing the flat through new eyes, and the familiarity of slipping back into my old patterns. Plus, London feels brand new again, I'm rediscovering it like a tourist, because The Boy and I are so keen to pack more into our weekend. We went to the National Portrait Gallery, and out to a show in the Roundhouse, called La Soirée. I'd highly recommend both. La Soirée would make a fantastic hen night, and you could even theme your wedding around a glamorous circus theme!
