Vintage-Style Wedding Stationery Seals

When it comes to wedding details nothing is too small. Take the back of your wedding stationery envelopes for example. Aren't they just crying out for a vintage-style wax seal? Fab shop, Back to Zero has tonnes of different motifs to choose from, including Fleur de Lys, monograms, anchors, crowns, and even a squirrel for the nature-loving. Then all you have to do is pick a wax that matches your wedding colour palette, and a second seal for your Thank You letters. It's the easiest wedding DIY idea in the world!

Vintage Wedding Decorations - Cloche & Bell Jars

My latest wedding decoration obsession are these vintage-style bell jars. They're perfect for a botanical or garden themed wedding, or a vintage-themed wedding, and I love their versatility. You can literally fill them with anything! I love how the bell jars in the picture below are filled with herbs, but I've seen them covering designer shoes {imagine naming your wedding tables Jimmy Choo, or Christian Louboutin!}, wedding cakes, vintage books and even sylvan scenes of moss and toadstools. For more ideas, check out my Pinterest board - it's stuffed with excellent wedding inspiration and ideas. For more pictures from this fabulous event styled by Sterling Engagements - check out the wedding blog Grey Likes Weddings.

Incredible French Vintage Lace Wedding Dresses

Can I let you into a secret? I didn't enjoy choosing my wedding dress. I've never been one to go shopping in a group, so I took myself off dress hunting, and never really had the fun giggly girly experience. I wish I had now, because although I loved my Delphine Manivet wedding dress, I think it's one of the 'getting engaged / married' experiences you shouldn't miss. If you're still hunting for the 'One', then please do check out Laure de Sagazan. She's a French designer I discovered via the Cup of Jo blog, and I'm totally obsessed with her vintage style, simple lace dresses. They're exquisite and delicate without being fussy. I'm also loving the urban edge of her publicity shots by Laurent Nivalle, and the Twenties-style headbands worn by the model. Incroyable styling!

Pretty Perfect Vintage-Style Shoes for Your Wedding Day

Wedding shoes need to be two things - beautiful and comfortable. The two don't often go together. Luckily one of the UK's best shoe designers has got the combo nailed. Rachel Simpson's Shoes are prettily perfect, with vintage styles and sensible heels. Many of them have crossbar straps, like dancer's shoes, meaning you'll never lose a shoe on the way down the aisle! What I really love, is that Rachel's made it her mission to perfectly cut each shoe to compliment the foot. It's so refreshing to find a designer with comfort in mind! Her shoes aren't cheap, but if you buy a pair in a colour other than white, you'll be wearing them for years to come.

Affordable Wedding Dress Series - Rowan Joy

Bride's looking for a vintage look are going to fall head-over-heels for these gorgeous gowns by Rowan Joy. Her designs are heavily influenced by the decadence of 1920's and grace of the 1930's, with a flattering cut and flowing skirts. Each dress is made-to-order, so she needs three months notice, but this means your gown will be made-to-measure for under a thousand pounds! Take a look at the designs below - more from different eras on her website.

The Wedding Food Revolution

In the last few years there's been something of a wedding food revolution. Sit-down wedding dinners and buffets are being replaced by a much more dynamic style of dining, in the shape of mobile food trucks. Much more glamorous than your local hotdog trailer, these vintage-style caravans come in all shapes and sizes. Pick a cupcake or ice-cream van as a fun wedding detail, or select several to cater for your entire wedding. Your guests will have the fun of choosing what they'd prefer to eat, there'll be less waste, and it'll slim your wedding budget. Plus you get a big dollop of vintage heavenliness at your wedding.

The Flying Ducks offer a retro dining experience from a vintage caravan. It really is a thing of wonder!

Original Vintage-style Wedding Stationery

Yippee! Boutique British graphic designers are finally getting in on the wedding stationery scene. I'm all about using independent wedding suppliers, and Vintage Designs are a humdinger! The lovely Andrew works from his home in Oxfordshire with trusty partner in crime, Alfie the Labrador. I think Alfie probably does most of the work, but Andrew insists that he studied design and photography at university, and that's one of the reasons why his work is so beautiful. I'm obsessed with the old-skool style typography and illustrations in his invitations, with my favourite design of all the one with the peas. Which is yours?

Bunting & Bathing Huts Wedding Stationery

If you love the traditional British world of bunting, bathing huts and camper vans, you're going to love the wedding stationery shop I've just discovered on Etsy. Something New Stationery is the brainchild of Jenni Bryan, and she's clearly taken inspiration from the British seaside. Just take a look at her lovely designs below! Her shop also stocks a huge range of colourful baking twine, at a reasonable price of £5 per spool. What's not to love?

Romantic Layered Wedding Gowns by Claire Pettibone

I've long been a fan of Claire Pettibone wedding dresses, and her collection for spring 2014 is as fabulous as you'd expect. She's famed for her romantic vintage-inspired gowns, and her latest collection - named Decoupage - suggests she was inspired by the traditional art of layering paper cutouts. The result is a line of divine dresses, featuring layers of chantilly, silk and vintage lace. It's the backs of the dresses that really take my breath away - just imagine the stunning view for your guests as you stand, saying your vows. Which is your favourite? Take a look for Claire Pettibone Trunk Shows in the UK - you never know, you might pick up a bargain! P.S. Her Still Life collection for Autumn 2014 brides is incredible!

Intricate Hand-Painted Watercolour Wedding Stationery

A few months back, I was lucky enough to attend The French Wedding Show, as their in-house wedding blogger & real life bride. I've been meaning to post the pictures {by Caught the Light} for months, so stay tuned for that feature, coming soon! While I was there, I was lucky enough to meet some truly fabulous vendors, including the brilliant wedding stationery designer, Gemma Milly. Gemma's stand was hugely popular throughout the show, as it was cleverly created with lots of pretty, vintage details. Looking at her work, you can see she has a fantastic eye for conceiving a wedding as a whole, and designing the prefect wedding stationery to suit the theme and colours chosen by the bride and groom. Receiving one of her bespoke invitations couldn't fail to get your guests excited about your big day, and building anticipation is key to creating a wedding that stands out from the crowd. I'm gushing, but just take a look at her work, and you'll love it too!

Super-Glam Sophisticated Bridal Jewellery

Brides who like a bit of glitz {I'm thinking Jenny Packham-style glamour}, are going to L-O-V-E my latest wedding discovery. Just take a look at these amazing headdresses from Willow Moone. Aren't they just the bomb?? They pick up on the big jewellery trend that we're seeing right now {lots of v large necklaces spotted in Anthropologie & J Crew}, and add a massive luxury twist. Every piece is hand-created by boutique owner Debbie Bailie-Collins out of perfect crystals, scattered artfully on to the finest ivory illusion bridal tulle. There's something very vintage, flapperish and 20's about them, and I have a serious obsession with the whole collection.

{I want this} 1. Lujon - Crystal Art Deco 1920's Tulle Headpiece, £330 | 2. Ishtar - Crystal Silk Organza Headpiece, £398.89

Whimsical Print-Your-Own Vintage Wedding Invitations

Wedding stationery still gets me ridiculously excited, and I love discovering brand new designers. Everything about these invitation suites by Splash of Silver is perfect. It's the combination of two of my favourite wedding motifs {bunting and old-fashioned Mason jars}, added to rustic Kraft paper, with a mix of fun fonts. The best things is they're digital designs, so you can personalise them, buy them, and DIY print them as many times as you want, saving you serious ££. They even include Thank You cards! There are three ways to get them printed - at home, at your local printer, or at an online printer like VistaPrint. There's tonnes of printable wedding invitations on Etsy, and check out my wedding stationery board on Pinterest for more inspiration.

Pretty Wedding Favour Packaging

When it comes to wedding favours I'm a complete sucker for truly pretty packaging. It almost doesn't matter what's inside the little parcel {although food is always a good thing!}, I can get truly over-excited about the wrapping. So when Pink Lemons got in touch with their latest range of vintage pastel prettiness, I couldn't resist featuring their range right away! Jo and Mai started Pink Lemons after they struggled to find shabby chic pieces for their own weddings. My favourite product is the retro milk cartons - they come with painted mini-pegs, so you can choose the colour that best fits your wedding theme.

** UPDATE: Pink Lemons have kindly offered the 10% off for the first 30 buyers who quote the Promotion Code B4THEBIGDAY - woohoo! **

Vintage Make-Do-&-Mend Style Wedding Garlands

Add a touch of vintage chic to your wedding with these crocheted flower garlands. Make it bespoke by picking the colours, and Emma Lamb will handmake them for you from Scottish wool. Unlike paper garlands, they'll last forever. The only difficulty is choosing the colours, with several beautifully named shades to choose from, like buttermilk, mustard, moss green, damson, mocha, russet and fuschia.

A Vintage Silhouette Wedding Theme

This year's winter weddings are all about harking back to a glamorous age, when the gentlemen were charming, ladies giggled behind fans, and champagne was served in gold-rimmed glasses. Make your wedding an escape from everyday reality with a Silhouette Wedding Theme. This classic artform is hugely adaptable, why not add your personalised silhouettes to your wedding invitations, favour tags, wedding decorations and even your cake toppers. Romantic and whimsical in one! I love these cake toppers from Simply Silhouettes' Etsy Wedding Shop - don't miss the rest of their fabulous collection.
