Before the Big Day Competition - Win Your Engagement Shoot

October always feels like the start of a new year to me. It must be a left-over feeling from the start of the new school year, but as soon as the leaves start turning, it feels like it's time to start afresh. To celebrate this brand new season, and to whoosh away any back-to-school, goodbye summer blues, I have a fabulous competition for you. Drumroll please.....One of my very favourite photographers, Patrick, from Butler-Madden Weddings is offering an amazing engagement shoot for one lucky couple. This incredible prize is the perfect way for you to practice your posing ahead of your big day, and celebrate your engagement. It's worth hundreds of pounds, so it's no ordinary prize, it's a supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus prize!

To enter, you need to do two simple things. You need to go to Butler-Madden Weddings' Facebook page and Like. Then you need to tell me your imaginative and creative location for your engagement shoot by commenting below this post. Make sure you add your email address as well.

We'll be announcing the winner in one week, on Friday 14th October at 1700. In the meantime, if you're going to be at Designer Wedding Show in London this weekend {7th-9th Oct} look out for the Butler-Madden Weddings stand. If you fancy it, come over and have a chat with me, Patrick, or his lovely assistant Laura. For the Terms & Conditions of this competition, please click here.

  1. What a lovely competition! When my fiancé and I got together it was very close to Valentine's Day so I didn't expect any grand show! He, however, had a better idea and whisked me away down to London for the day. For an engagement shoot I'd LOVE to re-live that day - Hampton Court Palace Maze, The Camden Eye pub, a picnic on the train and cake from Harrods on a bench in Hyde Park. Making me smile remembering it! Thank you :) Sandra.Ryan@gmail.com

  3. We're getting married on a little island off the coast of Ireland. It's incredibly beautiful with the sea and mountains behind. So to contrast with that I'd love to do a super urban engagement shoot around east London where we live; Columbia Road flower market for blooms and bacon rolls, Brick Lane, Regents Canal, Broadway Market, that sort of thing. I think it would be the perfect balance and represent the other side of us!

  4. Hi Patrick and Laura,
Well, 2 weeks after my lovely fiancee recently surprised me with an unexpected trip to Paris to propose, we had an offer accepted on a house in London that needs total renovation. We are going to be living in a building site for quite a while (it's going to be pretty interesting planning that and a wedding at the same time!). I think it would be BRILLIANT to have an engagement shoot in and around all the paint and rubble, to mark the start of a new and exciting life for us. It would be an amazing thing for us to look back on in future years - our first house, newly engaged, and very very happy! x (kmsherratt@hotmail.com)

  5. My fiancé proposed to me on a long weekend in Brugge around Christmas time so the memory is mixed with Christmas stalls, ice skating and ice carvings. I would love for an couples shoot to recreate the memories of that trip, but using the fairs, skating and ice bar in London.

  6. My fiance proposed to me in Blarney Castle whilst we were in Ireland in August this year. The grounds are beautiful and the castles story is lovely. I definitely want to relive that beautiful sunny day. The funny thing is that there is also a pub near where we live called Blarney Castle! Either location would work!
