Easy Wedding DIY Paper Projects

Paper decorations have become a mild obsession for me. It's because they're a wedding DIY project and a cheap and chic wedding decor option all rolled up into one crafty fabulousness. I'm not trying to pretend any of the ideas below are mine - I've never been all that creative with arts and craft, but I'm very good at copying. If you're just like me, then there's two wedding blogs you're going to want to visit. One is Project Wedding, and the other is Oh Happy Day {one of my all time favourite DIY blogs}. If you go there, you'll be able to make gorgeous, feather streamers like these in seconds.......

Real Quintessentially English Wedding: Claire & Phil

They say never work with animals or children, but weddings have to be the exception. There's nothing better than a crowd of cute little bridesmaids and pageboys, and a dog wearing a bow-tie. Anyone else find dogs in accessories amusing? {....just me then...}. Claire and Phil celebrated their day in elegant style, in a wedding that features a gorgeous strapless Sassi Holford wedding dress, pretty soft pink roses, and the dog from their local pub! I'm also loving the boys' smart morning suits and red cravats, plus a very beautiful vintage car. Most of all I'm loving how happy Claire and Phil look during their church service. Brides and grooms often look a bit scared and serious during their marriage ceremony because they're out of their comfort zone. Try to remember everyone's there for you, and it's your day - don't let the gravitas take over! Stunning pictures published with thanks to the very talented Binky Nixon.

Luxury Pretty-in-Pink Pastel Wedding Cakes

Looking back on my wedding blog posts for Before the Big Day, I realised I'm not featuring enough wedding cakes! They're a key part of any wedding day, and I'm always dazzled by the talent of the UK's expert cake makers. They're sugary artists! Naomi founded her home-baking company, The Vanilla Parlour in Surrey, a few years ago, and she's already at the top of her game. Just take a look at these pastel beauties - the flowers are exquisite. Choose your flavour and your filling, or create a completely original design.....personally I'm in love with the pastel blue wedding cake below.

How Will You Wear Your Wedding Veil?

Will you be wearing a wedding veil? And will you walk down the aisle with it covering your face? There's something deliciously romantic about the moment when a groom moves the veil away from his bride's face, although fewer brides choose the traditional option nowadays. Long, cathedral-length veils like the Delphine Manivet veil I chose for my wedding day, are also falling out of fashion, with birdcage veils, and mini fascinator-style veils gaining in popularity. I'm particularly keen on the whimsical range offered by online boutique, Twigs & Honey. They're designed to be fastened quite far forward in your hair, and then folded back as you greet your future husband. So maybe the old-school tradition will pose a come-back. What do you think - forwards, or backwards?

Real Vintage Country Garden Wedding: Emma & Tony - Reception Details

It's time for the gorgeous reception details from this lovely country-garden themed wedding. Elegant bride, Emma styled all her wedding details herself combining shabby chic with touches of the exotic, to reflect her husband Tony's Indian heritage. Stealworthy wedding ideas include her wedding bouquet wrapped in burlap, lavender boxes outside the church, mismatched vintage jam-jars and jugs on the reception tables, and the occasional Indian-style lantern. I love how Emma divided up their wedding marquee into three separate areas - the lounging section looks amazing, and the children's play area is such a good idea, if you're going to invite little ones to your big day. Also the pretty country-garden style florals by Passion for Flowers. Enjoy the gorgeous wedding pictures by B72 Imaging  and don't miss the shots of the wedding cake buffet - it's one of the best I've ever seen!

Real Vintage Country Garden Wedding: Emma & Tony

Any wedding that combines burlap, lace and lavender detailing is always going to rate highly in my love-list. If you throw in a purple colour palette, and stunning vintage-style silk wedding dress, then I'm well on the way to wedding bliss! Fab couple, Emma and Tony chose historic Wroxall Abbey for their second wedding day - their first was a Sikh wedding to reflect Tony's Indian heritage. Emma planned all of the wedding in a country garden style with an elegant twist. I love her drop-waist wedding gown, and her elegant flapper-style lace head-dress. With flower-girls in white, maids of honour in purple and page boys in cute shorts and waistcoats, the entire wedding party looked fabulous! Spot the stunning flowers by Passion for Flowers. Enjoy the gorgeous wedding pictures by B72 Imaging, and don't miss the shots of the wedding reception, coming later today - it's packed with stealworthy wedding ideas.
