Badge Save the Date

In the constant quest to find an original angle to anything wedding, I stumbled across these fantastic Save the Dates. Created by Toast Events in their New York studio, these badge invites can be customised anyway you like. I love the idea of choosing four motifs for your wedding, what symbols would you choose? Ooo, lucky number 7. Huge apologies for missing last week, I went dress shopping at the Jenny Packham sample sale {naughty}. I didn't find a dress, but I did buy a gorgeous gold sequin shrug, which glams up any outfit. DIY Pom Love

Pompoms. I'm obsessed. They're something about their frothy loveliness and their vulnerable tissue petals that makes me want to hug them. Of course I can't, because that would crush them, but that just adds to their hugability. It's the same feeling I get when I see kittens, or pugs, or babies' fat legs. {Ahem, moving swiftly on...} Anyway, I'm seriously thinking of decorating my own wedding with hundreds of them, so I started to look into how easy they are to DIY. The good news is that they're incredibly simple. The bad news for my girlfriends, is that my hen party is now going to be a pom-pom making party. If you don't want to spend the next few months up to your elbows in tissue paper, you can buy them from Pom Love, but if you want a DIY tutorial...check this out! P.S. You can make confetti out of the leftover bits of tissue paper, if you buy a paper stamp from here.

Real Wedding: Hannah & John

Kilts and feather boas are two things not often associated with each other, but when a Scotsman marries a fashion designer, you wouldn't expect anything else. This wedding is a tartan-fest! There's even a piper with bagpipes and sporrans a-plenty. Hannah and John chose Wiston House in Sussex for their big day, and celebrated in modern style with some simply gorgeous details to snaffle. My fav spots are Hanna's exquisite silky dress with lacy shoulders, and her beautiful flowing bouquet complete with Highland thistles. Love the dramatic dining room and the block table markers, named after their favourite tracks....including a Chesney Hawkes classic! A big thank you to Simon Fazackarley for his fantastic pictures, aren't the tennis shots brilliant!

Real Wedding: Lois & Steve

Fairytale, feminine and frothy, three words that almost enscapulate this fabulous English wedding. Lois and Steve could not have been luckier with the weather, for their April big day, they even said their vows outside in the sunshine. The gorgeous couple chose Little Hermitage in Kent for their venue, and doesn't it look stunning, with a big green garden, and lots of Georgian features. Lois picked pink as her signature colour, and used it to fabulous effect with super-feminine bridesmaid dresses, armfuls of roses and a cute stick of rock at each table place. Even the boys got in on the look, with pink ties and buttonholes. I'm loving Lois' full-skirted dress and her simple pearl accessories, plus her taste in pink champagne - yum! Cup of Love

Save your pennies by using these super-cool paper cups instead of renting glasses! They wouldn't work for champagne, but you could definitely use them for short cocktails or soft drinks. They'd be a great addition to your table decor, imagine the bright colours adding zing, instead of boring water glasses. Lovebird Duo

These two belong together, aren't they the cutest! Just look at their gorgeous heart-shaped, feathery wings. I'd add them to a sweetheart table for a touch of rustic chic. Your guests could admire them as they added comments to your visitors' book, and then afterwards you could keep them by your bed where they'll lovingly look after your rings. Each little bird is unique and handmade by Elizabeth Prince. Real Wedding: Jennifer & Oliver

London is one of the most inspiring cities in the world, so it's not surprising that LDN weddings tend to rock my world. There's so many iconic images that can be incorporated into your big day, from black cabs to red buses, the River Thames, the tube, Big Ben and of course soldiers in bearskin hats. Jen and Olly managed to find a fair few of those details on their post-ceremony walk down The Mall, and it really adds to the atmosphere of their pictures. But the details don't stop there! Throw in Jen's Vera Wang dress, an orchid bouquet, and the breathtaking London Oratory, and you've got a wedding made in heaven. I particularly love the room in the The Waldorf Hilton where they celebrated their reception, it's so light and airy and elegant. Don't miss the last pics, as Jen and Olly performed a fabulously choreographed foxtrot for their first dance. A great idea for a couple who aren't that confident on the dance floor.
