DIY Wedding Ribbon Ideas

On a recent trip to Newcastle to visit my Dad, he took me to possibly the best shop in the world. It's called RE and it's a wonderful world of wedding inspiration. I'll be featuring many of their gorgeous products over the next few weeks, but let's start with these heavenly ribbons. Add them to your wedding invitations, favours, vases and wrap them round your wedding bouquets and buttonholes. They're a fantastic way to brand your big day. Don't worry if you can't get to the north-east, they deliver.

Real Colourful Vineyard Wedding: Blake & Ashley

Bold bright colours are much harder to style, but create such memorable weddings, that if you've got the guts then you should go for it. Californian couple Blake and Ashley picked fuschia pink and lemon yellow for their colour scheme, and in the hot bright west-coast light, it all came together beautifully. Their vineyard venue was naturally gorgeous, so they kept their florals to a minimum, with bundles of tulips and a scattering of petals up the aisle. Table displays were cleverly filled with sliced oranges, a fantastic idea to steal for your own big day. I'm also loving how the place markers were wedged into a corks, and the tables named after grapes, all great ways to continue the vineyard theme. Don't miss Ashley's amazing pink shoes - she even spelt out 'I Do' in blue sequins on the soles, as a super-cool 'something blue'. Stunning photos, as ever, from the mega-talented Sarah Yates Photography.

Real DIY Colourful Wedding: Sarah & Rick

Sarah and Rick's gorgeous colourful wedding was entirely DIY'd thanks to the help of multiple friends, an inspiration in itself, and that's before we've started on the details! Particular praise has to go to florist Rhonda Stoffel for her fabulous autumnal blooms. I love how the bridesmaids' bouquets pop against their dark blue dresses, and that each maid has her own style of dress. It's so much kinder than putting all your girlfriends in matching outfits, unless they're all top models. I'm also adoring the colourful chuppah and table dressings, and the long, family style seating plan, plus the multi-coloured mini lanterns decorating the trees. Totally fabulous photographs as ever from the brilliant Jessamyn Harris - particularly the last shot of the wedding party hamming it up - hilarious!

Exotic Morocco-Themed Wedding Inspiration Shoot

This incredible wedding shoot has got me wishing we'd planned our wedding in Morocco. With tonnes of gorgeous exotic details, you'd think this was a wedding planned in the desert, but in fact, the team of wedding vendors are based right here in the UK. It just goes to show you can create any wedding theme you like, all you need is a blank canvas, and tonnes of imagination. I'm loving all the bright wedding details from this shoot, including the pretty paper lanterns from Papaver Designs, the bright Moroccan-style cushions, the delicate lanterns and incredible gold wedding cake. There's tonnes of wedding ideas for every type of wedding, I can imagine the lace bunting and table stationery at a pretty farmhouse wedding as well. Real Brights Autumn Garden Wedding: Kirsten & David

You've got to love sunflowers at a wedding. I've fallen head-over-heels for the beautiful wedding flowers in this fabulous big day from last autumn. The golden light and the glowing orange details colours create wonderfully warm effect, and I'm loving the outdoor family dining, the lanterns and the beautiful twinkling overhead lights. Throw in a beautiful bride with a flower in her hair, and hand-painted wedding stationery and I'm in heaven.  I'm loving all the vintage prop details, the old watering cans, the jam-jars filled with flowers, the blackboards, and the birds nest confetti baskets. So many stealworthy DIY-able ideas, you'll want to save these pics on your Pinterest board for sure! Huge thanks to Jessamyn Harris for her truly beautiful pictures.

Real French Vintage Wedding: Melanie & Matt - Part 2

Time for part two of this fabulous Before the Big Day inspired French wedding. It's detail time people! Lovely bride, Melanie found tonnes of wedding ideas on Before the Big Day, and you can see them {and more much}, in the fabulous wedding style. I'm loving the linen table cloths teamed with antique crocheted mats, the vintage spoon table names and the pots of herbs. If you look closely, you can see that every person received a miniature lantern as a wedding favour, labelled with a vintage luggage tag, plus two strands of lavender, as a nod to the French Provencal venue. Other stealworthy ideas include the amazing antique mirror table plan, the DIY lace-wrapped jam-jars, and the gorgeous fabric pom pom decorations, designed {and now sold} by Melanie on her fantastic website Belle Pom-Pom. Fabulous pictures published with thanks to the hugely talented W Scott Chester. The venue was Ferme St Martin, booked via Owners Direct.
