Real Al-Fresco Yellow-Themed Wedding: Shirley & Sam

There's a real European Riviera feel to this real wedding, although it's actually straight from the States, and one of my favourite American photographers, Amelia Lyon. I'm loving Shirley and Sam's style, from Shirley's exquisite layered wedding dress, her bridemaids' sunshine yellow gowns, and the cute cork stands for the table numbers. Check out the picture of the blue plaster on Shirley's ankle - Sam took it upon himself to make sure Shirley had her 'something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue', and the blue plaster was the something blue. Love it! Also loving the al fresco dining. I'm hoping to do that at my wedding in Provence, so fingers crossed the sun shines on 28th May 2011....

Real Wedding: MJ & John

Wedding planning brings the best and worst of times. The moment you first try on the veil {best}, finding your perfect venue {best}, arguing with your Mum over cake stands {worst}. I've given myself 16 months to organise my wedding, but with 7 months to go, I'm already feeling the pressure. MJ and John completely put me to shame, because they organised their wedding in six weeks. That's right people, it's possible to organise a wedding this beautiful in just 42 days - OMG! Seriously impressive details include the gothic candlesticks and flowers - I'm loving the autumn shades of yellow and orange and the gorgeous bower, under which they were married. MJ's dress is exquisite, and her veil is the perfect combination of simplicity and detail. Stunning photographs from the lovely Amelia Lyon - we love her work!

Real Wedding: Heather & James

A brand new morning, and a brand new photographer for Before the Big Day! Meet Amelia Lyon and drool over her amazing pictures of her cousin Heather's wedding to her high school sweetheart James. We're talking serious details, folks - so keep your inspiration notebook close. This was a truly family affair, with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents chipping in with a helping hand, including the catering! My favourite details are almost too many to count. Let's start with the fantastic bold colour palette of aqua and orange, and move on to the heavenly parasols, handmade paper garlands and personalised soda labels. I'm also seriously loving Heather's pretty waist corsage and James' funky tie. Most of all, I love what they did with the venue. Is there anything more romantic than a roof of sparkling lights?
