Before the Big Day Wedding Theme: Blossom

All these lovely spring days have got me thinking of a blossom themed wedding. There's something uniquely romantic about blossom raining down like confetti, and it's a lovely feminine motif for a spring wedding. Choose some of these gorgeous Etsy products to add a tinge of pink to your big day.

Bridal Hair Styles - Romantic Chignon

With only one month and 29 days before our wedding in France {not that I'm counting!}, it's time I chose my wedding hairstyle. We're heading over to Provence this weekend to taste-test our wedding caterers and choose the wine, and I'll also be meeting my hairdress Joel for the first time. He comes highly recommended by a lady from our string quartet, so hopefully we'll click straight away, despite the language barrier! He asked me to bring some pictures of the types of hairstyle I'd like on my wedding day, so I spent a good few hours scanning the internet for 'loose buns' and 'romantic chignon'. Here's a collage of some of my favourites - do you like?

Cute Shabby-Chic Burlap Banners

Loving these cute banners! They'd be perfect for a shabby-chic, rustic real wedding. FunkyShique add red glittered hearts to black glittered "LOVE", in any font you choose. It'll make a great photo prop for your wedding, and after the ceremony, you can hang it above your bed as a momento of the day. There's plenty more designs - definitely worth checking out their website.

Real Barn-Dance Wedding: Natasha & Philip

Seriously loving the vibrant colours in this English countryside wedding. The bride, Natasha, picked a stunning bright purple for her bridesmaids' dresses and her flowers, and the colour looks stunning against the rustic barn background. Other stealworthy ideas include Natasha's sparkly veil and her simple hairband tiara, plus the fabulous cascading rose cake. Stunning pictures published with thanks to David from Charlwood Photography.

Gorgeous Spring Wedding Wreath

Welcome in spring with this gorgeous blossom wreath! Made of silk flowers, you could use it at your wedding, and then keep it for years to use on the front door of your home. I've always been a fan of pink and white cherry blossom {pictured}, but Twenty-Third and Vine also make wreaths out of peonies and camellias - check out their beautiful website.

Real Blue & White Baby's Breath Wedding: Mireille & Johnny

It's the baby's breath that makes this real wedding one of my favourites. I'm planning to buy clouds and clouds of it for my own wedding, as it's a great way to create a dramatic look without breaking the bank. Johnny and Mireille celebrated their big day in the summer sunshine of South Africa, in their hometown of Pretoria. I'm totally thrilled by Mireille's stunning short wedding dress and flat ballet pumps - I love a bride who combines chic with comfort. The happy couple chose a simple blue and white gingham as their signature colour, and used it to fantastic effect on their jam-pot favours. It's often the simple colour palette ideas that are most effective; stripes, spots or floral - if you pick one and carry it throughout the wedding details, it creates a very 'together' look. Gorgeous pictures published with thanks to We Love Pictures.

Real Al-Fresco Yellow-Themed Wedding: Shirley & Sam

There's a real European Riviera feel to this real wedding, although it's actually straight from the States, and one of my favourite American photographers, Amelia Lyon. I'm loving Shirley and Sam's style, from Shirley's exquisite layered wedding dress, her bridemaids' sunshine yellow gowns, and the cute cork stands for the table numbers. Check out the picture of the blue plaster on Shirley's ankle - Sam took it upon himself to make sure Shirley had her 'something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue', and the blue plaster was the something blue. Love it! Also loving the al fresco dining. I'm hoping to do that at my wedding in Provence, so fingers crossed the sun shines on 28th May 2011....

Supporting Japan Part 3

Just a quick new posting in my quest to support Japan. Support their local businesses by picking up a few cute prducts from Japanese Etsy stores, or support Etsy sellers who are donating money to the Japanese Relief Fund. I've fallen for these gorgeous origami crane earrings. Why not buy a few pairs for your bridesmaids, or give paper cranes as favours for your guests?
