Will You Wear a Wedding Garter?

When it comes to wedding planning, there'll always be something important you forget. With me, it was my bridal underwear. Every other detail was perfect - I'd sewn a silver key onto my wedding bouquet, my napkins were tied with a special ribbon, and I'd sourced giant white balloons, but I had no knickers to wear under my wedding dress. Well, obviously I had knickers, but no special knickers! I've always slightly regretted it, along with not wearing a garter - your wedding day is pretty much the only time you'll ever wear a garter, and now I've missed out! So tell me, are you going to buy special lingerie for your big day? What sort of style will you go for? Pretty, sexy or fun? P.S. Before Your Big Day Boudoir Shoot - Do or Don't?

Have you ever heard of a boudoir shoot? Lots of wedding photographers offer them as part of a wedding package - they're like an engagement shoot, but involving bridal lingerie! The idea is you have the pictures taken as a present for your husband-to-be, as a reminder of how lucky he is to be marrying his sexy, glamorous wife. They're usually teamed with some sort of makeover, so you can be sure to look your best. I love the idea of dressing up in pretty lingerie, although I don't know if my current bras would take the heat - I'd definitely have to go shopping before any hanky panky takes place! For more sophisticated ideas, take a look at my Pinterest board - I'm thinking the best option is to go slightly theatrical, like in this Pin by Elizabeth Messina.

Unique Etsy Weddings: Luva Huva Honeymoon Lingerie

Every day this week I'm going to introduce one of my favourite UK Etsy wedding sellers. Tuesday is Day 2, and it's honeymoon lingerie time. Lovely UK designer Luva Huva makes beautiful, soft and sexy underwear and loungewear - perfect for relaxing on your honeymoon. Boutique-owner, Joanna Ketterer uses 100% organic cotton, bamboo, and soy fabrics, along with end of line remnants, and vintage lace to create these pretty pieces, and all the products are handmade in the UK. Rainbow Honeymoon Underwear

We don't often feature wedding or honeymoon underwear on Before the Big Day, but I couldn't help myself when I spotted this lovely rainbow selection from Fox & Rose. Honeymoon Underwear

Personally I go through underwear fazes. I'll not buy any for ages, and then I'll suddenly despair of my greying knickers and unstructured bras, and go on a shopping frenzy. On your wedding day your knickers will be more about function than fun, but for your honeymoon, you'll want to treat your husband! One of my recent secret discoveries is Ann Summers. Huge excitement all round. Shopbop is now available to UK buyers! If you've not discovered this super-cool online boutique, you're in for a treat. It's a bit like ASOS, but with all your favourite US designers, plus a fabulous wedding boutique. I've lusted it over it for yonks, but never been able to flex my credit card muscles, but now they deliver for free to the UK for orders over $100. Finally I can buy my Splendid Tees and Eberjey knickers, without having to fly to New York - woohoo! Pick some up for your honeymoon, or Valentine's Day.

Secret Wedding Support

First of all I have to admit that I didn't discover Gilsa myself, it was the lovely ladies over at Delphine Manivet who tracked them down. They are, without doubt, the best invisible support in the world, and as they're French, they're somehow chic. Even though, in essence, they're just sticky chicken fillets, when you wear them, you feel sexy. I wore them on my wedding day under my backless, Anatole wedding dress, and no one would have known there were there. Somehow, they even add cleavage - remarkable!

Honeymoon Nightwear

Knickers! I'm ALL about gorgeous underwear, believing you can look drab on the outside and still feel sexy, safe in the knowlege your knickers would blow their mind. Nightware falls into much the same category, and that's why there's two reasons why I'm loving this collection from Mulmulstore.
