Fabulous Weekend Wedding Blog Links

This weekend is going to be all about getting in the festive spirit for Christmas. I'll be buying my tree from Columbia Flower Market, along with as many wreaths, poinsettias and baubles that I can fit in my little car. This year we're having a pretend Christmas at our house on Thursday 22nd December, because The Boy and I are going away somewhere hot on Christmas Eve. So I'm determined to get the flat looking as Christmassy as possible for all our family. There's tonnes of DIY Christmas ideas if you look on Pinterest here, and lots would work perfectly at a winter wedding of Christmas themed wedding. Now we've just got to wait for the snow, although in the north of England, you guys have already had a sprinkling haven't you? Enjoy your weekend, and these lovely wedding blog links! Don't forget to come back on Monday, when I've got an extra-special Christmas present for all you brides-to-be!

Real Winter Red-Themed Wedding: April & Kit

Red, the colour of passion and shoes! April and Kit decided on a winter wedding and celebrated their big day in style, with bright blue and rich red as their theme colours. A bold choice, it totally paid off, and made for a bright and cheerful wedding, despite the grey day. April completely nailed bridal-chic, and looked stunning in a Sottero & Midgely dress, cosy red coat and awesome red shoes by Chinese Laundry. I love the way the bridesmaids' necklaces and the ribbons on their bouquets match exactly, such fabulous styling! These gorgeous pictures are thanks to US photographer Stephanie Williams.

Why We ♥ Mr Boddington Wedding Stationery

I have a HUGE crush on a man called Mr Boddington who lives in New York. Don't worry, I'm not being unfaithful to my fiancé, this affair is all about stationery, and once you've spotted Mr B's amazing work, you're going to want him too! From his studio designs to his bespoke service and ready-to-print collection (for couples on a budget) - these pics will leave you drooling.

Real Bahamian Beachside Wedding: Jade & Matt

Hands up who wishes they were in the Bahamas right now? Well I'm afraid these wedding pics aren't going to help. Taken by the gorgeous team at Our Labour of Love, you can almost feel the sulty heat and smell the sea breeze. Close your eyes, and you'll hear the slap of waves agains the wooden jetty, and the clatter of palm branches. Okay, fantasy over, now it's time to get down to the steal-worthy ideas. The best thing about a destination wedding is that you can save a fortune on flowers and decorations, as the location does it all for you. Check out the gorgeous palm arbour where they Jade and Matt said their vows, and the exquisite, simple, white button-holes. I'm also head-over-heels for the boys' suits - neutral linen = totally gorgeous.

Real Barndance Succulent Wedding: Melissa & Brett

This wedding is an inspiration-fest!  Gorgeous couple Melissa and Brett DIY'd many of the features - my favourite has to be the vintage bud vases - so chic, and super-cheap.  Huge love has to go to the traditional photo booth and how about those feather buttonholes - just stunning.  Right, I'm off to plan a barn-dance!  Massive thanks, as ever, to amazing photographer Jessamyn Harris for letting me publish her pics.

My Wedding - DIY Wedding Stationery

A sure-fire to way to make certain that your wedding stationery is truly personal to your big day is to create DIY wedding invitations. I couldn't afford the wedding stationery package that I wanted, so I designed it all, and had the invitations and RSVP cards printed at my local printers. {See the pictures below by Caught the Light}. But what if you're a bride & groom without any artistic aptitude!? Well the good news is that you can still get on the crafting train, because tonnes of companies now design card packages that you can easily DIY at home. From print-at-home designs, to the perfect paper, and cute embellishments like seals and ribbons, you'll find that inner creative before you know it! Real Rustic Wedding: Nicki & Roni

Have you chosen a signature colour for your wedding yet? If you're looking for inspiration on how to use colour at your wedding, then look not further than this sturnning rustic-style affair. Nicki and Roni picked bold purple as their colour, and used it in just a couple of key details; the carnations on the tables, and Nicki's bridesmaids' dresses. But the real secret lies in how IN-frequently they used the carnations - only occasionally as punctuation. Super effective, no? Other stealworthy wedding ideas include Nicki's wildflower-style bouquet, her sweet wavy hairstyle, and the vintage crates and milk bottles on the tables. I'm also loving the airmail place-markers and personalised flags on the straws. Huge thanks to the team at Our Labour of Love for capturing all the details in such style!
