Introducing A Real Before the Big Day Bride

As I'm now an old married lady, I thought it would be fun to introduce a couple of Real Before the Big Day Brides to the wedding blog. The idea is that they'll be planning their wedding at the same time that you plan yours, and they'll share all their fun wedding ideas and wedding inspiration. They'll create their own blog posts and Pinterest boards, so you can watch their wedding develop, right up to their big day! Our first bride is Rachel. She's getting married to on 27th October to boyfriend Adam, and she's super-excited about her autumn wedding in Oxfordshire. They've already organised their venue, so now it's all about the wedding details. Only the wedding flowers, invitations, favours, decorations, wedding dress, shoes, veil, accessories, bridesmaid dresses, etc, etc to go! Here's an inspiration board from Snippet & Ink to give you a sense of Rachel's wedding style. Her first post goes live tomorrow - don't miss it!

Real Super-Cool Hipster Wedding: Priyanka & Chris

My favourite weddings are those where the bride and groom really stamp their sense of style on the day, and this couple are seriously hip! Just take a look at Priyanka's fabulous wedding day look; her strong make-up, red lipstick, chandelier earrings, full-skirted wedding dress and pretty up-do. Chris wasn't going to be left behind - I'm loving his sharp three-piece suit and stripe monochrome bowtie, plus Ray Bans. Other stealworthy ideas include the four-leaf clovers in the buttonholes, the wild orange table flowers and the vintage lace wrapped bottles. So many perfect wedding details! Huge thanks to Our Labour of Love for their beautiful pictures.

Wedding DIY With Washi Tape

Huge excitement! My washi tape has just arrived in the post {I love my postman, he's so friendly and he never mentions that I'm always in pyjamas}. For those of you not in the know, washi tape is extra special Japanese tape, designed for making things pretty. I've been plotting for months to buy some, but it's reasonably expensive, so I made myself created a Pinterest board of Washi Wedding DIY projects first. Now I have tonnes of wedding ideas to try, and a wonderful selection of 12 tapes to play with - woohoo! P.S. I bought my washi tape here, but you can buy it here too.

Real Botanical Themed Wedding: Josi & Jamess Part 2

Botanical-themed wedding Part 2. Such was the fabulousness of this gorgeous South African wedding by We Love Pictures, I had to split it into two! So if you missed the first part, click here. This is truly one of my favourite weddings of all time. Gorgeous Josi and Jamess celebrated their big day in some serious style, and there's tonnes of wedding details you're going to want to steal. Let's start with the bridesmaids' Grecian pink dresses in ombre shades, the flower girls in white with floral crowns and the handsome ushers in marching blue suits with pink ties. Then there's the gorgeous wild wedding flowers, both in the bouquets and tied to the chairs along the aisle. I'm also obsessed with Josi's beautiful half-up, half-down wedding hair-style and her feathery dress, teamed with a cathedral veil. The venue is incredible, the pictures are beautiful, everything is perfect *sigh*!

Real Botanical Themed Wedding: Josi & Jamess

I've seen a lot of pretty weddings but this one has taken the biscuit! It's another one of those fabulous big days that have so many incredible details, I had to split it in two. So in a bit of a switcheroo, here are the wedding reception details first! Wedding themes can become slightly formulaic, so I'm thrilled to introduce a completely new wedding idea - the botanical themed wedding. Styled by the insanely talented Heike from Fleur Le Cordeur, just take a look at the incredible vegetable and flower displays at Josi and Jamess' wedding. I'm loving the vegetables displayed under bell-jars, the red onions spilling out of vases, mini-lettuce sin sweet glass-jars and leggy leek flowers. Only flowers that bloom on vegetable plants, fruit trees and herbs were used - wow! I'm also loving the soft striped table cloths, the pure white of the marquee and the twisted branch chandeliers. If you're wondering about the beautiful botanical-style table numbers and table plan, they're by The Secret Diary who have tonnes of incredible wedding stationery ideas on their website. Huge thanks to the massively talented team at We Love Pictures. Their photographs are always blow-your-mind beautiful. With suppliers like the crew at this wedding, who wouldn't want to get married in South Africa?!
