Real Urban Pink-Themed Wedding: Kelly & Brian

Pink peonies and feathers, don't you just love them? This gorgeous, super-glam wedding features so many of my favourite details, that I've fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Kelly & Brian picked an urban location for their wedding, but prettied it up with stunning pink florals, draped table cloths and chair covers, and my fav, twinkly fairy lights. I'm also loving Kelly's feathered birdcage veil, her zinging pink shoes, and her slightly crazy bridesmaids! Don't they look like they're having the best time? Huge kudos for the cool vintage going-away car, complete with Just Married sign. Real Luxury Red-Themed Wedding: Gwen & David

Every now and then a wedding comes along that just completely blows my mind. This is one of them. Every detail is super-chic, and en masse they're a perfectly mixed, uber-elegant, rock n' roll wedding cocktail. With red and black as their theme, Gwen and David selected luxury red roses as their flowers of choice, which tied in Gwen's bright red lipstick, their red cupcakes and even their signature cocktail Lady in Red. Everything else was black, including Gwen's bridesmaids dresses and the table cloths - such a dramatic look. My favourite detail has to be the table markers-slash-favours. Designed as vinyl records, guests had to flick through Gwen and David's 'record collection' to find their seat, which is an amazing idea for the music lovers out there. Simply stunning photographs as ever from the talented Stephanie Williams - she really knows how to catch every detail. And if you're wondering about the dramatic location, it's Union Station in Los Angeles, which is, I'm sure you'll agree, a pretty kick-ass venue.

Real Orchid-Themed Urban Wedding: Mari & Brendan

OMG! I'm totally obsessed with the pictures of this g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s wedding! Firstly the couple are crazily photogenic, secondly the urban venue was clearly exquisite, and thirdly, the photographs are simply exquisite (big shout out to the team at Our Labour of Love). Scroll on down, because they get better and better. Mari and Brendan were married at the magical place called Marvimon, surrounded by succulents, orchids and their best friends. My favourite details-to-steal have to be Brendan's sharp suit, not to mention Mari's dress and her cute headband, definitely a fashion must-have this season. Tonnes of fabulous ideas for how to make your wedding portrait pictures more interesting as well. Great stuff!

Introducing the Winners of the Engagement Shoot!

Back in autumn last year, Before the Big Day teamed up with Butler-Madden Weddings to offer an incredible prize - a free engagement shoot! Bride-to-be Josie won, and suggested an urban engagement shoot to contrast with her rural wedding. So along with her fiancé Jeff, they met with photographer Patrick Butler-Madden at Columbia Road Flower Market for blooms and bacon rolls, and a fabulous photoshoot. Real Yellow & Black Brocade Themed Wedding: Jacqui & Lachlan

This is wedding is a floral triumph! Whoever came up with the idea of planting tulips topsy-turvy was a genius, and just check out the amazing table-scape. Altogether, it's an exquisite wonder of black brocade and sharp lemon, and I love it! Everything is exceptional, from the buttonholes, to the pomanders and the delicate bride's bouquet. Happy couple Jacqui and Lachlan clearly have an eye for detail - and there's buckets of steal-worthy ideas including the lemon parasols, be-ribboned stationery and black glassware. I'm also a big fan of the cute page boys! It just goes to show how remarkable an urban space can be for your own big day.
