Totally inspired by Cathleen and Eric's wedding, and their use of cherries as decor + favour, I went in search of some more fruity inspiration. The good news is it's everywhere. The better news is that it's a cheap and chic way to decorate your wedding tables. Enjoy!

Real Wedding: Anna & Andrew
Using fruit as a motif in a wedding is a fantastic idea, as it represents a relationship coming to fruitition, the start of something new, and the sweetness of life. Anna and Andrew chose apples and blossom as their theme, and green as their colour, and it all tied together beautifully. The happy couple celebrated their big day at the gorgeous Layer Marney Tower in Colchester, with ceremony in the beautiful Church of St Mary the Virgin within the grounds. Since Andrew hails from Scotland there was an abundance of men in kilts, including the cutest little page-boys. I'm also loving Anna's kitten heels {so sensible on your wedding day}, the bridesmaids' bold silk dresses, and the sweet little mice cake-toppers. Stunning calligraphy on the place-markers, and such a clever idea to use pearl-topped pins to fasten them onto the apples. Many thanks to Marianne Taylor for her fabulous photographs.

Berry Inspirational
Autumn is such a fabulous time to get married, and couples planning their wedding should look no further than the gorgeous English countryside for inspiration. Blackberries come into season in September, and they're ripe for the plucking in every hedgerow. Why not ask your family and friends to help pick a few punnets to decorate your cake? Or you could use the berries in fabulous muddled cocktails or delicious fruit sorbets? Even the colour of your blackberry-stained fingers could act as inspiration for an accent colour.
If you prefer blueberries or raspberries, check out your local pick-your-own for cheap fruit. And don't throw away the punnets! They can be re-used on your big day to house confetti, or as whimisical containers for your table flower arrangements.
If you've got a real glut of fruit, and you're a dab hand in the kitchen, homemade jam makes a gorgeous wedding favour. If you need a recipe click here.
